Ben Roethlisberger talks loss against Patriots in Foxborough

HIGH TEMPERATURE FRIDAY OF 82 DEGREES. BEN ROETHLISBERGER LET’S LISTEN IN. I HAD TO GO BACK AND REMEMBER EACH ONE BUT ONE I KNOW WE DID GET JAMES ON ANOTHER ONE AND ME JUST NOT MAKING THE THROW I NEEDED TO MAKE. [ INAUDIBLE QUESTION ] YOU TRY TO FIND A SINGLE GUY BECAUSE THE DEFENSE DOES A GREAT JOB OF DOUBLING ONE GUY AND TWO GUYS MIXING THEM UP TO YOU TRY TO FIND THE ONES WE CAN. [ INAUDIBLE QUESTION ] YES WE JUST COULDN’T CONVERT THIRD DOWNS COULD GET DRIVES OR SUSTAIN THINGS. THAT IS PARTLY ON US AND PARTLY BECAUSE OF THEM. [ INAUDIBLE QUESTION ] BECAUSE THEY ARE GOOD AND WE KNOW THEY LIKE TO THROW A LOT OF DIFFERENT LOOKS AT YOU. THAT WASN’T GOOD ENOUGH. [ INAUDIBLE QUESTION ] I WILL HAVE TO GO BACK AND LOOK AT IT FOR ME IT WOULD BE JUMPING THE GUN I DON’T KNOW TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH. [ INAUDIBLE QUESTION ] IT WASN’T GOOD ENOUGH. IT JUST WASN’T GOOD ENOUGH. [ INAUDIBLE QUESTION ] I FELT LIKE WE HAD A GOOD PLAN BUT OBVIOUSLY WHAT YOU SAW WE WEREN’T GOOD ENOUGH. [ INAUDIBLE QUESTION ] EVERYONE IN THE WORLD KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING BUT THAT CAN’T MATTER WE CAN’T LET THOSE THINGS EFFECT HOW WE PLAY. [ INAUDIBLE QUESTION ] I THINK THEY’VE ALWAYS BEEN A GOOD DEFENSE. THEY’VE GIVEN ME SOME GRIEF AND THEY DID IT AGAIN TODAY. [ INAUDIBLE QUESTION ] HE’S THE BEST IN THE WORLD. THERE IS A REASON HE’S THE BEST AND WHEN HE’S OUT THERE DOING HIS THING AND PARTLY WITH US WE DIDN’T DO ANYTHING TO KEEP THEM OFF THE FIELD AND LET THEM GET SOME REPS SO THAT IS ON US AND THE OFFENSE. [ INAUDIBLE QUESTION ] I AM NOT WORRIED ABOUT HIM I AM WORRIED ABOUT MYSELF. I NEED TO PLAY BETTER HE WILL BE JUST FINE. I AM CONFIDENT HE WILL BE A GUY FOR IS THAT I CAN COUNT ON. I TOLD HIM THAT AND I WILL SHY AWAY FROM THAT. ANYONE ELSE? [ INAUDIBLE QUESTION ] YES AS A LEADER AND CAPTAIN LIKE I’VE SAID YOU GO ON PAST EXPERIENCES. THERE’S OTHER GAMES AND OTHER SEASONS WHERE WE HAVEN’T WON THE FIRST GAME OF THE SEASON AND TRUTH BE TOLD YOU KNOW IT STINKS AND NO ONE LIKES TO WIN MORE THAN ME OR LOSE A GAME ESPECIALLY THE FIRST ONE BUT TRUTHFULLY IT IS STILL A LONG SEASON, IT IS NOT THE END OF THE SEASON OR THE MIDDLE IT IS THE VERY FIRST GAME SO THERE IS A LOT LEFT AND WE HAVE TO BRIDGE THE SEASON LIKE THERE IS

  1. After him having to watch brady scorch his team and have him suck.. I bet alot of money hes thinking of an exit strategy.. He wants to pull a tony romo for sure

  2. Don't Get me wrong y'all are a good team hope y'all make it to playoffs I'm a patriots fan but I hope y'all do good 🤙

  3. Not just the Defense Ben but the whole team and coaching staff is better, I'm embarrassed with the lost and you ,Tomlin and the whole coaching staff has to go

  4. WAIT….Tomlin is not fully at fault for this. Blame the coordinators for this crap fest and Moncrief for the 5 dropped passes. Fire the coordinators, trade/waive butterfingers moncrief and find another receiver WHO can catch!!!!

  5. I’m tired of the Patriot flattery its time for the Steelers organization to put a better product on the field no more excuses

  6. Idgaf . I say they blew that game purposely not taking anything away from new England but Pittsburgh a much better team then that they rushed plays and moncrief cant catch a fucking flu new England hype and the sooner teams put them on they ass the sooner everyone will see the truth but Pittsburgh need to stand up

  7. Tomlin should be FIRED; Sorry ass Little Ben should've retired when Tony Romo retired! The damn Pittsburgh Squealers. Been a fan since 1963, I'm just not feeling this mess Tomlin has created since AB's sorry butt left; and what the Hell Levion Bell; Tomlin should go Like Yesterday? I'm getting rid of my Steelers paraphernalia.

  8. Haha Mike Tomlin said AB was a Distraction? Mike Mayock call AB a distraction? So I wonder why being a perfect golden boy didn’t help any of the Steelers win. Eggs all over the PC police faces

  9. Wide receivers were not running, they were jogging to spots at best. They should have told Donte Moncrief to just go home and sleep it off .

  10. This was a horrible loss and a horrible way to start the season. I won't hit the panic button yet. But Montcrief has to go. Secondary sucks. Washington scared of the endzone.

  11. The Nosey Neighbor Scent Review

Bed sounds like he dropped his confidence on that field. The Rooney’s are just like the Giants… Cheap! Open up those billion dollar Wallets and pick up a real Receiver Dez is actually sounding good right now. Call Gronk and Andrew luck.

  12. Well if you weren't good enough then you need to go,looks like the coaching staff needs to go, every year it seems like no one has learned how to beat the Patriots.so I believe the coaching staff needs to go.

  13. THIS SHOULD BE BENJAMIN'S LAST SEASON, TOMLIN AS WELL….PLAYBOOK HAS STAYED IN THE 70'S, VETERANS THAT DON'T CHANGE WHEN THEY HAVE ALL OFF SEASON AND PRE-SEASON 🤔

  14. Been a Steelers Fan 38 yrs , I watched BeN his whole career he seems Off Mentally and Physically and James Connor is not our RB of the Future They really should've payed Leveon Bell and made him happy,, , AB i believe has early stages of CTE he is a Small Guy 5.10 and 180 lbs getting hammered buy some Big Dudes and Since the Burcifit hit AB is a Whole different Dude Very WEIRD Remember Junior Seau and Justin Strelzyk both Happy Normal People then out of Nowhere just Snapped !!!!

  15. Big Ben looks like he’s just about done with football. Doesn’t look fun anymore. Get that ass beat & embarrassed. “Rivalry” 😂

  16. Haven't scored only 3 points since 2007 against Miami and that was the lowest scoring game to air on Monday night football ever….

  17. As Steelers fan I speak for when I say when is enough is enough with Mike Tomlin and our coaching staff. it’s only week one but we have to hit panic button NOW! You have all pre season all off season the prepare for week one. We came out and looked worse then we did last year. I see the same issues because of the same problem. No energy, came out flat, predictable offensive play calling that was just awful and no defensive game plan. No game plan at all in that matter. Ju Ju was contained. It’s gunna happen. That’s when other receivers have to step up. I see moncrief dropping ball after ball after ball. I see moncrief running east and west rather then north. I see Washington catch a 50 yard bomb and run out of bounds. Just gave up on the TD. Never seen that before. I see an offense that needs a ground n pound running back. Conner is not a #1 RB. He’s a role player. I see the same defensive issues in the secondary. Blown coverages, miss communication, bad matchups and terrible play calling. I see the lack of Pursuing the football or playing the ball, I see bad technique everywhere. It all starts at the top with Mike Tomlin. Same issues, different year. Things are already south. I don’t see ya winning more then 7 games this season. What I see is terrible preparation and motivation. We let our best coach go to Denver in the off season in Mike Munchek. We can make do with our roster. We have a well rounded talented roster. Young in many areas. That’s where the coaching comes into place for development. We don’t have good coaching so our players aren’t developing the way they should. I cNt stand to watch our team owners constantly back up Mike Tomlin, extend his contract before the season even starts and consistently never improve. Keith Butler,Randy Fischer. These guys are TERRIBLE! I notice Tomlin doesn’t keep coaches like Haley or Porter, skips out on Hines Ward, hires tom Bradley who I think is the worse position coach in the league. He hires close friends. . He doesn’t keep emotional leaders who are tough on the players and hold players accountable. It’s time for a breathe of fresh air. Tomlin is not the guy. We are in trouble people. The players can only play as well as they’re prepped. The patriots have dominated for 2 decades because of 1 guy and his system and standards. I see a lack of fundamental football being executed, I see a lack of leadership, lack of motivation, bad play calling, lack of in game adjustments, lack of a game plan and all out bad preparation. That’s all on the coaches.starts with Mike Tomlin. It’s not right that these players get killed at like the problem. We have a contending roster. You can make all the personal moves you want. We brought in 3 huge pieces to pur defense and we looked as bad as ever with the same issues as we’ve had the last 5 or so seasons.

  18. Dam, Ben stop making excuses man we need to get some of the players back that was cut including grave digger.Ben you need to get your shit together before the next game, Are we want make it to playoffs. Defense sucked at all areas. Brady can be stopped outside corners and up the middle. Tomlin do your job as a coach step up.

  19. To the loss of this game yes he threw a few good passes just to be dropped. Juju is a questionable 1st string he is still young filling in a important role. I just don't think he is ready for that position. And the entire offense was not on q with anything. The false start on the entire offense line except the back up center was enough said. I honestly think we need a 2nd threat and I'm not saying juju ant a threat he is great but we need to make sure we have more threats then just one guy. That west coast style offense with short and screen passes did nothing and continued to stick to the plan. Bad all around. Your playing the champs and they beat Steelers up pretty bad. One if not the worst opener for the Steelers. Game two will be key to seeing what's been changed. If we see this next week I can see Steelers having a bad season with only 6 wins. D needs to create pressure with out blitzing

  20. I think it would have been a better night had the news of AB had not came out yet ! I felt we may beat them if we started good but you know that news really stabbed the Steelers bad . It had too !
