Pokemon Trading Card Game Online (PTCGO) 2019 Beginner’s Tutorial 1 新手教學1

Hi, this video is to teach how to start with this Pokemon card game online version. First step is to create a Pokemon Trainer Club account. Input “pokemon trainer club” in Google Then you can see the official website. Choose “Create an Account!”. Next, input your birthday and region. Input a username, a password and an email address Here is important, you need to input your screen name which is visible by other players After registration and email confirmation, we can download the game. Input “ptcgo” in Google, get to the official website. Click “Play the Pokemon TCG Online”. Download according to your platform, Windows, MAC, iPad or Android. Next, install and run the game. Use your registered username and password to log in. After you log in, you will see this picture Beginners first see a tutorial and need to do it. It is about basic rules of the game and how to move the cards. After watching the tutorial, you need to beat AI players. After beating the first four you get 250 coins. After beating the fifth you get a booster pack. At the very beginning of this game, assuming you do not want to spend real money on it, the very first goal is to collect 500 coins. How to do that? Before saying that there are several things you may do. First thing is to click “Options” and choose “Settings”. Here you can set video and audio. Then here I’d like to choose “Do Not Share”, meaning that you do not want your opponents to know the details of your decks. However if you are ok with sharing, you can choose “Share with Everyone”. Then click “Apply”. Another thing you can do is to choose “Profile” and then “Avatar”. Here you can set your appearance and clothing. After you are done with these settings, you can go to the “Play” tab and choose “Trainer Challenge”. This is the place for beginners to earn coins and booster packs. At first you will be given three mediocre decks: Fire type Born of Fire, Lightning type Crushing Current, and Water type Hidden Depths. At first you will be at “Gold” level. Here are 12 AI opponents. You need to beat every opponent using four different decks. Let’s say you win Zach using Born of Fire. Then you get one star. Next you use Crushing Current to beat him to get the second star. You use Hidden Depths to beat him to get the third star. Since you only have three decks at first, you cannot get all four stars. Well, you can get three stars for every AI player: Zach, Mick, Calvin, Ali, etc. You get coins after getting any of the first three stars. Thus after beating these players you can save 500 coins. Another way to save coins is using the Daily Awards. Award will be updated at UTC+0 every day. Say if you log in on Day 1 you get 5 coins, Day 2 you get 10 coins, Day 3 you get 15 coins. Day 4 you get a tournament ticket. Day 5 you get a booster pack. After you follow what I said and get 500 coins, or tokens, whatever. You can click the “Shop” tab and “Decks” tab. You can buy theme decks here. The top six theme decks are competitive. Many people say the Charizard theme deck is the strongest. Buy this deck by clicking “Redeem” and confirming. Going back to “Trainer Challenge”, you can select the Charizard theme deck at the bottom. Relentless Flame is its name. You can get the fourth star using this deck. You can get one booster pack after beating an AI player with the fourth deck. After you beat these 12 players you get additional booster packs. There are 12 players for each level: Gold, Platinum, City Championship. Beating all of them, you get a lot of cards. You keep saving 500 coins. Then you can keep buying new theme decks. So you need not use those three mediocre decks to finish the trainer challenge. Use the new theme decks to finish the challenge. We can discuss later what theme decks are great. Last part of this video is to show you how to play the game, as you may have not played this game before. After clicking “Deck Manager”, you can see all of your decks. Theme decks can be viewed by clicking the second tab. By clicking the third tab you can view the decks created by yourself. I am going to try my Metal type Alolan Dugtrio deck. You can click “Test Deck” to test your deck. We have an AI oppponent Nathan. I am decided to start first. Indeed who to start first is decided by flipping a coin. It is like this maybe because the opponent is an AI player. This place is for your Active Pokemon. This is your bench. You can put 5 pokemons here, behind the Active Pokemon. This is your card box. Here is your deck. Here is your discard pile. This is your GX marker. I will tell you later its use. I need to have a Basic Pokemon as my Active Pokemon, but there are no Basic Pokemons in the 7 cards I got. My deck needs to be reshuffled until I have a Basic Pokemon in my first seven cards. I will take a mulligan this time, meaning my opponent can draw one more card. A deck has 60 cards. I have 53 cards in the deck and 7 in hand. 0 here indicates the number of cards in the discard pile. By the way, if you want, you can opt to concede. Just click the “Concede” tab here. Feel free to concede if you feel your cards in hand look bad. I reshuffle the deck since there are no Basic Pokemons in hand. Opponent got a Basic Pokemon to play but I did not. After reshuffling, here it shows my previous seven cards, which could be viewed by your opponent. I take one mulligan, meaning my opponent will get one more card. Click Done. I now have two Basic Pokemons in hand: Pidgey and Emolga. Since Emolga has no retreat cost, I set it to be my Active Pokemon. Pidgey is my benched Pokemon. After Active Pokemon is present you will see 6 prize cards. One way to win this game is to beat 6 pokemons so as to get 6 prize cards. Indeed after some specific Pokemon is dead you can get more than 1 or 2 prize cards Then we don’t have to beat 6 Pokemons, but anyway getting 6 prize cards is one way to win. In my first round, my cards in hand look pretty good. I will use this “Professor Elm’s Lecture” to pick 3 Pokemons I want. I pick this, Ditto and this. I can place these on bench. Emolga has an Ability for me to draw another Emolga. Then I can exchange it for a Pokemon I want, say Alolan Diglett. I need not attach an energy to any Pokemon for this deck, because my Pokemons do attacks by discarding my energies in hand. So I do not attach an energy. Normally every turn one may attach one energy to one Pokemon. Also, every turn you may use one Supporter. I just used a supporter who is the Professor, so I cannot use another supporter say Lillie. I end my turn. One cannot attack during the first turn, in general. Now it is my opponent’s first turn. He attached a Pokemon tool and a fighting energy. My cards in hand is pretty good. Now we evolve Alolan Diglett to Alolan Dugtrio, Pidgey to Pidgeotto. I place another Pidgey on bench. I do not attach the energy, and then use Lillie. I have 3 metal energies. Then I use the Ability of Pidgeotto to look at the first two cards in my deck, pick one of them and put the another one at the bottom of my deck. I want the metal energy. I am ready to attack. The attack point of Alolan Dugtrio is 30 times the number of metal energies I discard. I will discard 4 energies to deal 120 image. My opponent’s Active Pokemon has 110 HP, so it can be knocked out. I retreat my Emolga, and attack by selecting four metal energies and discarding them. I knocked out one Pokemon, so I get one prize card. Let me pick this one. It is another Pidgeotto which is good. I evolve my Pidgey. Indeed I must win this game. Notice that if all opponent’s Pokemons are dead, I win even I don’t get 6 prize cards. I have multiple ways to knock out the opponent’s Pokemon. One of them is to use this Supporter to get 4 metal energies. This is a Stadium. In principle both of us can use it. But opponent’s deck is not of metal type so only I can use. I can use this Stadium to get back 2 metal energies from the discard pile. I can attack right now. I can even use Pidgeotto’s Ability again but it does not matter. Throwing away all metal energies for my attack, 180 damage is dealt. I win. It is the end of the video but I just got new daily challenges. I am going to pick Rainbow Power. No worries I plan to explain these later. It is the end of this tutorial. I will have another PTCGO tutorial video soon. See you!
