Ways To Know You’re A Toxic Gamer
Hey guys! Welcome back to Top 10 Gaming, I’m Ron McKenzie-Lefurgey. If you’re a fan of online games, you are
without a doubt familiar with toxic gamers. Sometimes they’re on the enemy team, sometimes
they’re on your team, and sometimes… well, sometimes it’s you. Now the definition of toxic is a bit loose,
so here I’ll just be defining it as “players who make the experience worse for others”. So get ready, it’s time for the Top 10 Ways
to Know You’re a Toxic Gamer! Number 10: You seem to always get toxic people
in your game. You know what they say, if it smells like
poo everywhere you go, look under your own shoe. Some people constantly complain about getting
stuck with toxic people, but a lot of the time, you’re doing it to yourself. Either through passive-aggressive comments,
or, ya know, calling teammates names, toxicity breeds more toxicity. So if you find yourself getting in a bunch
of arguments with jerks… maybe check to make sure you aren’t the jerk yourself. Number 9: You cheat. I mean… this is self-explanatory. If you hack in multiplayer games to give yourself
an advantage, you’re pretty much a piece of garbage. You ruin your experience by making the win
mean nothing, and you ruin the experiences of others by making it impossible to play
properly. It’s one thing if you secretly enable mods
in Age of Empires against a friend and destroy his base with a monster truck, it’s another
to use aimbots or wallhacks in a CS:GO tournament. And if you do… you toxic. Number 8: Teamkilling. You know who you are. I don’t care if you’re having a bad day,
I don’t care if one guy is doing badly, I don’t care if it’s “Just a joke bro”,
it’s not funny… I mean if it’s your friend then it’s a
LITTLE funny but still don’t do it. I don’t care if it’s CS:GO, CoD, Chivalry,
any time you kill teammates on purpose, you’re being toxic. And if you do it a lot… ya toxic. Number 7: Intentionally losing a game. This is along the same lines as the last one;
it doesn’t matter how angry you are, don’t lose on purpose. There’s almost always at least one nice
person on your team, if you make them lose just because other people were being jerks,
you’re just as bad as them. Report and move on. Or in my case, argue with the toxic people
and make everyone hate you. Number 6: Arguing with toxic people. Yeeeeeep this is one I do a LOT. I’m trying to change. I am. But I hate when people are jerks, especially
in a game, and I have trouble not calling them out on it. But do as I say, not as I do; arguing doesn’t
solve anything. It only distracts you and your team, making
it harder to win. If you really must talk to someone, try doing
it after the game. I made a friend doing that. It works. Just try to stay out of the toxicity while
you play. Number 5: You call people “kid”. Oh my god. This is just a personal one, but I absolutely,
HATE, hate hate hate when people call other people “kid” in games. “Ugh you’re so bad. What? I’m doing pretty well. Lol shut up kid.” Like, what, does it make you feel cool? Who cares if they ARE a kid, it’s a video
game! Video games are meant for kids. Not to mention that 99% of the time, the person
calling someone a kid is almost always a kid themselves anyway. And don’t even get me STARTED on the other
thing. “Lol you’re 25? What are you playing video games in your mom’s
basement?” No. Games are fun. I’m having fun. Look, if you make fun of people for their
age, whatever it is… you’re toxic as hell. Number 4: You insult people’s mothers…
and you’re serious. Look, we’ve all made your mom jokes jokingly
to our friends. They can be pretty funny when said IRONICALLY. But if you actually think that the best way
to express your frustration is to tell a human being that you hope their mother dies, or
that she’s fat, or whatever… that’s not healthy. Kinda like the guy the other day who said
he wanted my entire family to get cancer and die. Don’t be that guy. That guy’s a jerk. Number 3: You use racial slurs. Duh. This one’s kind of obvious, but it’s pretty
impressive how many people actually do this and think it’s normal. It ain’t. The n-bomb isn’t a generic insult. It isn’t another word for “idiot”. It’s a word steeped in decades of racial
issues, and when you use it, all the normal people suddenly realize that you’re a racist
ignoramus, not to mention, hella toxic. Number 2: Berating your teammates. I hate this so much. Look, I get that you are a God among men. I know you make absolutely no mistakes ever,
even in that game where you went 0/10 because that was totally the jungler’s fault. But don’t yell at your teammates just for
being bad! People don’t suddenly get better because
they’re told they’re stupid. The absolute worst instance of this is when
people create a new account to play against new players, then insult them. OF COURSE you’re better than them. THEY’RE NEW! I’m not against smurfing as a rule, but
if you do smurf, don’t be a jerk about it! If you were against Faker, you’d be getting
rekt too! Just stop! Number 1: You’ve been banned for your toxicity. This is basically THE indicator of toxicity. Are some people wrongfully banned? Sure. Does it happen often? Not really. In most games, bans are the result of a bunch
of people thinking you’re toxic, and reporting you. In several games. If you end up banned, you’ve almost certainly
been toxic as hell in a bunch of games. I know you have excuses, but you know who
else has excuses? Literally everyone who has ever been banned
ever. If you get banned, have a look back at your
recent behaviour, and maybe change things up a bit. That’s it for today! Hope you guys enjoyed, if you did please smack
that thumbs up button and subscribe to Top 10 Gaming for more videos! Well, what’s the verdict? On a scale of 1-10, how toxic are you? Let me know in the comment section down below! Until next time, I’m Ron McKenzie-Lefurgey

  1. I be toxic on the inside or just turn off the mic and scream at myself for being a damn idiot cause I try to talk to these people calmly xD

  2. All my bans from cs go. Team killing it damage to team mates. I can explain. Its always someone shoots me naturally (for me anyway) I turn round shoot them in the foot. Nope 7 day ban

  3. Can u do top versions of blaze from sonic the hedgehog? Or more versions of silver the hedgehog, or some of the obscure sonic characters like gemeral, Shade the echidna, and the meterex (the meterex are from sonic x)?

  4. 2 out of 10, takes a wile to do it but i will chew someone out if it just wont stop. And or when my team leaves in the middle of a match or when we are winning and it costs us the win.

  5. This crap is why I stopped playing online competitively. I just get too stressed and spiteful about it. It was unhealthy so I stopped. But then my so-called "friends" complained because they wanted to "have fun" and I just wanted to mess around in Forge. Some stayed but others didn't.

  6. Video Games are meant for everyone. If they weren't the M rating wouldn't bloody exist. Most of the video games I play I wouldn't let anyone below the age of 13 play.

  7. Cheaters should be 1 or 2. Okay I take that back, the racist 1 should be 1st. Another thing you missed is when gamers destroy their gaming gear. I just recently destroyed a PS Vita, & over what you might ask – a communication error. Of course it didn't help that I got a lot of these over time & my anger was boiling over over them, but it's not excuse for my toxic behavior.

toxic gamer's are why I will not play League of Legends. I'm not toxic gamer i don;t playa ll that much online or do any pvp but I am all for helping people if I can. I do get annoyed if say I am leading someone some where and they constantly ask "where are you?" even though I'm two feet away from them. At that point I take a deep breath tell them to put me on follow and relax. Look everyone if you wanna play pvp or play LoL great have fun but be aware not everyone is pro you're going to have new people and those who have never played a game like that. If they are on your team be encouraging telling them how that for a new guy they weren't bad and maybe giving them some advice to hep them get better. I mean if you do that the next time you see them wether they are on your team or the others you can help know that you helped them get better not only that but it is a great way to make a friend too. They will always be the people who make rude comments jokes whatever but don't be one of them. remember you were a noob once too so be a cool dude now.

  9. and men, this guy is so trigger from so much friend, and he can't tell them verbaly so he made a video without mensioning their name and see he's video(trigger for a good reason)

  10. I usally call those toxic players that are stopping toxic player, cyanide players but I do this instead of being toxic I say yur mum not gay, hope you and your family is safe Im just being the opposite toxic player so my toxic level is -10

  11. I came here to find out what this new gaming phrase on Dead by Daylight such as a character being toxic. Everything you just said makes as much sense as people on Console games saying they're going AFK.
